What is the origin of Peak Success?

P.E.A.K. stands for Personal Excellence through Awareness and Knowledge..and with Action comes Success.

Success is the result you experience when you commit to your personal excellence through growing awareness and knowledge that are integrated into your thought and behaviour patterns.

Achieving your personal excellence will bring you joy and you will feel the accompanying ease when you are authentically expressing your natural talents.

Who is Gloria?

I was born in Trinidad and later moved to New York where I obtained a Masters degree in Psychology and a graduate business certificate. Richard and I were married in New York and we lived and worked there for a number of years before moving to Canada where our daughter Alison was born, and where I began my passionate work in coaching.

I bring to my coaching practice years of professional training and life experiences, and a variety of work experience in corporate America, as well as private, educational and non-profit organizations. Having worked for Dreyfus, a New York-based mutual fund company, expanded my corporate experiences in dealing with a variety of people and projects. I have the CPBA (Certified Professional Behavioral Analyst) and CPVA (Certified Professional Values Analyst) designations for powerful Success Insights assessment tools. I have been and continue to be coached by Master Coaches and business strategists who are of tremendous value to me and my clients.

Contributing my skills and talents to make a difference in local and global communities is important to me. My event planning and leadership strengths led to my being asked to chair the Burnaby Board of Trade Business Excellence Awards, which I took to a surprising new level of excellence and success, creating a template for what is now a unique annual gala in Burnaby. As an active Rotarian and Past President of the Rotary club of Burnaby-Metrotown, I directly contribute to local community projects, which also support the global community in the worldwide eradication of polio. Believing in the dignity of all people, even towards the final stages of their lives, I responded to the call to be a member of the Board of Directors of the St. Michael's Centre Foundation.

The essence of who I am owes much to the influence of fabulous role models, namely my parents and aunt, from whom I learned unconditional love, generosity, faith in God, living and thriving with change, the value of good health, the importance of appreciation and gratitude, and a love of food.  I am proud to be Alison's mother and I have learned much from her. I also acknowledge some very special people in Trinidad, New York, and Canada who have touched my life.  My prosperity begins with the support of my loving family members, treasured friends, and fabulous relationships with clients, fellow Rotarians, and various community members. I feel fortunate and I am thankful.

Others have described me as someone who brings out the best in people and radiates peace; one who is an exceptional listener, enthusiastic leader, and visionary; and someone who is naturally good at building relationships, team spirit, and consensus; and is non threatening, non judgmental, calm and calming, intuitive, inspiring, generous, and sincere.

"Your word is worth a million dollars" and "It takes two hands to clap" are just two of my father’s quotes that I live by.

I am passionate about my family and friends, my work (my calling), and my contribution to community to help create a more loving and peaceful world.  I see the beautiful essence of each person and I am honoured and privileged to inspire and collaborate with clients to help them be their best, focusing on their strengths and their power to attract/create the successes they know they are capable of achieving.
Clients have found that as a result of my work with them, they have improved their overall quality of life.  They have rediscovered who they are, as defined by their passions and what success truly means to them, and they feel at peace with themselves and their relationships.

Gloria's Coaching Philosophy

My philosophy is that you have the capacity and the inner resources to approach your current life situation in a way that transforms your ability to have more of what you want, with considerably little effort.

What to Expect:

As your coach, you can expect me to:

  1. Be a partner in bringing out the best, the deepest, and the truest in you.
  2. Provide inspiration, encouragement, and support in an environment in which you can relax and explore ways to make progress effortlessly and joyfully, without adding to your plate.
  3. Respect the confidentiality of what is discussed.
  4. Expand your view of what is possible and promote discovery of new insights.
  5. Give you input and straight feedback, and operate as a sounding board.
  6. Listen carefully to what you say and ask questions that increase awareness and look for ways to “clear the decks” in your life, work, and relationships.
  7. Be an on-going resource for you in accomplishing your intentions.
  8. Know that our coaching time is yours, not mine. This is all about you. I will work with you on how best I can serve as a powerful instrument for helping you move forward and achieving what you want in life and work.

As my client, I expect that you will:

  1. Cultivate a core honesty with yourself and with me.
  2. Commit yourself to intentions that are truly meaningful and significant to you.
  3. Be open to my feedback, and keep me honestly informed as to what is and is not working for you in our session or relationship.
  4. Take ownership for your progress and accomplishments.
  5. Own your session and take financial responsibility for the time slot of your coaching call. If you miss a call, you can make it up by sending an email to me, whereupon I will give you feedback with a return email.
  6. Open your mind to new possibilities in vision and action.
  7. Tell me what to ask you if I am not already doing so.
  8. Tell me how I can best acknowledge and encourage you in a way that inspires and empowers you, if I am not already doing so.

Coaching is a respectful and inquiring form of conversation that can enhance your ability to make significant changes, move forward into new areas, and/or release patterns that prevent you from achieving your goals. It is a specific process of interaction over a period of time that encourages a shift in your mindset which results in significant changes in   what you do, and how you do it. Coaching services are not to be construed in any way as, or as a replacement for, psychotherapy, legal counsel, or medical advice.

You are responsible for creating your own decisions and results. Part of our coaching agreement entails that you agree not to hold me, or any company I am affiliated with, liable for any outcomes resulting directly or indirectly from the coaching process.

I am deeply committed to being an inspiring partner who collaborates with you to create and achieve your vision for your personal life and your career or business. Together we will explore what you want to accomplish and identify the natural and most powerful way of achieving your intentions.
